They looked mixed (like Phat Daddy and his brother). I'd then explain that - even though she looks white, she's biracial. Whenever we were out, people would ask, 'How do you know her?' I'd say, 'She's my grandmother.' People would be shocked. People outside our family assumed she was white - even other black people. She didn't have any black features at all. My maternal grandmother was a white-passing biracial woman.
Ummm.society puts people into categories and treats people accordingly (to how it believes a certain group should be treated).
